The Post Graduate Department of Political Science was established in Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University in 2023 with 30 sitting Self-Financing Course (SFC). The focus of the Department is on providing quality education which helps the students to face the challenges of life. The syllabus of the department is semester based and modified as per the changing modern society. The department follows choice-based credit system and this open elective course of political science entails understanding political ideas, ideologies, institutions, policies, processes and behaviour. The course curriculum of Political science focuses on the theory and practice of government and politics at the local, state, national and international levels.

Established in 2023, the department offers a specialized Self-Financing Course (SFC) with a selective intake capacity of 30 seats. The department’s NEP 2020 framework ensures holistic and multidisciplinary growth where the curriculum is built on a modern, adaptable academic framework designed to meet the demands of contemporary society;
(a) Semester-Based Syllabus: The course curriculum undergoes regular updates to remain closely aligned with changing social and political realities;
(b) Open Electives: The department provides comprehensive elective courses that instill a deep understanding of political ideas, ideologies, institutional structures, and human behaviour.
Our educational approach bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The curriculum provides rigorous training that enables students to critically analyze governance, policy-making, and political behaviour across four interconnected dimensions;
(a) Local Governance: Understanding grassroots politics and community administrative structures; (b) State Politics: Analyzing regional policy dynamics and provincial governance;
(c) National Systems: Exploring central government institutions and nationwide policy frameworks; (d) International Relations: Examining global political dynamics, foreign policy, and international organizations.
