The 29th Foundation Day Celebration of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University will be held on Monday, 13 July 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the University Conference Hall under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mahendra Kumar Mohanty.

Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Housing & Urban Development and Public Enterprises, Government of Odisha, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Professor Raghunath Panda, eminent educationist and former Principal of Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Autonomous College, will deliver his address as the Chief Speaker. The Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mayurbhanj, Shri Nab Charan Majhi, MLA, Baripada, Shri Prakash Soren, and Maharaja of Mayurbhanj, Shri Praveen Chandra Bhanj Deo, will attend the ceremony as Guests of Honour.

On the occasion of the Foundation Day, the University’s prestigious “Bhumi Gaurav” Award will be conferred in recognition of outstanding contributions made by distinguished personalities of Mayurbhanj. For the year 2025, the award will be presented to Shri Sarat Chandra Nayak, Dr. Banaja Mohanty, and Er. Rabinarayan Bhuyan. For the year 2026, the recipients are Shri Paresh Chandra Sahu (Art and Culture), Shri Vivekananda Pattnaik (Social Service), and Shri Harish Chandra Hota (Education).

This year, among the University’s non-teaching employees, Smt. Sandeepta Rout, Junior Assistant, and Smt. Kabita Panda, Peon, will be honoured as the Best Employees for their exemplary service.

In addition, Ms. S.C. Anjali of the Department of Zoology, who secured the highest marks in the M.Sc. Zoology Examination, 2025, will receive the “Kumudini Memorial Award.” Ms. Bidusmita Ghosh of I.G. Women’s College, Udala, who emerged as the Best Undergraduate Student in History for the year 2026, will be presented with the “Dr. Ashok Priyadarshi Memorial Award.”

The winners of the Professor Dipak Sadangi Memorial English Debate Competition will also be felicitated. Lipsa Lopamudra Barik of Fakir Mohan University has secured the First Prize, Sanghamitra Mohanty the Second Prize, and Shubhakankshini Tripathy of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University the Third Prize. They will receive the “Professor Dipak Sadangi Memorial Award.”

Furthermore, NSS Programme Officers and Volunteers of the University who have rendered outstanding service under the National Service Scheme (NSS) will be felicitated in recognition of their dedicated contributions.
