PERSONAL INFORMATION

Prof. P. Parida’s research focuses on Environmental Toxicology and Ecotoxicology, with particular emphasis on the toxic effects of environmental pollutants such as pesticides, heavy metals, industrial chemicals, and nanoparticles on aquatic and terrestrial organisms. The research uses different animal models, including fish, tadpole larvae, earthworms, snails, lizards, toads, and chickens, under controlled laboratory conditions. The research has potential industry linkages with agrochemical and pesticide industries, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, environmental testing laboratories, water-quality monitoring agencies, biotechnology companies, and industries involved in nanomaterials. It can support toxicity screening, environmental safety assessment, product-risk evaluation, development of eco-friendly pesticides, and identification of safer alternatives. Ultimately, the research contributes to sustainable industrial practices, environmental protection, food and water safety, and human and ecosystem health.
