PERSONAL INFORMATION

It is always fascinating for me to understand the patterns of species distribution and diversification in various taxa. Currently, my research interest is focused on biogeographic histories of several non-model tax in Peninsular India, especially on snakes and other reptiles. In addition, I am interested in understanding the causes and consequences of various evolutionary forces on the process of species diversification and distribution pattern. During my academic training, I worked on the systematics, phylogeny and biogeography of few colubrine and viperine genera of snakes. Currently, I am working on the systematics of several other genera of snakes to understand their cryptic speciation, the spatial scale of genetic structuring, species diversification, adaptive radiation and biogeographic histories in Peninsular India.
