The Department of Library and Information established in the year 2001. Currently the department is offering Two-Years Integrated MLIS Programme having choice-based credit system with Open Elective Paper. It has experienced and well qualified faculty members have guided the students to master the art of librarianship with series of hands-on training and practical classes so that they are better prepared to take up challenging jobs in digital age librarianship. The department has good mentoring system for the curricular and personal development of the students. This department is fast adopting new technology and IT applications to groom its students as the efficient and dynamic library and information managers in future.

Welcome to the Department of Library and Information Science at MSCB University.
Library and Information Science (LIS) education is vital because it prepares professionals to organize, manage, preserve, and provide access to information in libraries, educational institutions, and digital information centres. It helps develop skilled librarians who support teaching, learning, research, and lifelong education. LIS education also promotes the effective use of modern information and communication technologies, improves information literacy among users, and contributes to the growth of a knowledge-based society.
In the modern knowledge economy, information is one of the most powerful resources we possess. However, raw information only becomes valuable when it is effectively organized, preserved, and made accessible. That is exactly what we do here.
