Workshop on Traditional Healthcare Practices and Indigenous Remedies for Community Well-being

The one-day PM-USHA sponsored Workshop on Traditional Healthcare Practices and Indigenous Remedies for Community Well-being scheduled on Saturday, August 1st (9:30 AM to 5:00 PM) in collaboration with Vivekananda Kendra – AICyaM, Bhubaneswar was successfully completed as per the following agenda.

09:30 AM – 10:15 PM: Registration and Networking
10:15 AM – 10:50 AM: Inaugural Session (Address by the Dignitaries on the Purpose)
10:50 AM – 11:15 AM: Walkthrough of Base Information Sheet
11:15 AM – 11:30 AM: Tea and Networking
11:30 AM – 01:30 PM: Presentation by the Healers – Sharing of Experience (Session – A)
01:30 PM – 02:15 PM: Lunch and Networking
02:15 PM – 03:00 PM: Presentation by the Healers – Sharing of Experience (Session – B)
03:00 PM – 03:20 PM: Summarization of Session – A & B
03:20 PM – 04:00 PM: Panel Discussion on ‘BATA ROGA’ and ‘RAKTA SHIKULI’
11:30 AM – 04:30 PM: Filling of Base Information Sheet (BIS) by the Healers
04:00 PM – 04:45 PM: Issue of ‘Workshop Participation’ Certificate to the Healers
04:30 PM – 05:00 PM: Payment to Healers on Local Travel Expenses

There were 57 traditional healers participated in the workshop and 53 of them filled the Base Information Sheet and received the certificates. The workshop was attended by many faculty, research scholars, and students. The total registered participants were 120.
The presentation of all the traditional healers was audio recorded by the university. We will be glad if the University will plan to prepare any research or technical note based on these inputs.
