PERSONAL INFORMATION

Dr. Pratap Kumar Jena is an academician and economist currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada. Dr. Jena has been associated with the university since 2015, contributing to teaching, research, and academic development in economics. Prior to this, he held academic positions as Assistant Professor at the Central University of Karnataka (2013–2014) and at the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Visakhapatnam (2014–2015), reflecting a diverse teaching experience across reputed institutions. He obtained his Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. in Economics from the University of Hyderabad, one of India’s leading institutions for higher studies, indicating a strong academic foundation. His research interests broadly lie in applied macroeconomics, econometric modelling and forest economics, and he has been involved in academic collaborations. Dr. Jena is also a recipient of the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship awarded by the UGC, recognising his academic merit and research potential. With over a decade of teaching and research experience, he continues to contribute to higher education through student mentoring, research activities, and institutional responsibilities. Dr. Jena is a dedicated academic professional engaged in advancing economic education and research in Odisha.
