PERSONAL INFORMATION

Prof. Kabita Kumari Sahu is currently serving as Professor and Head at the Department of Economics, MSCB University (erstwhile North Orissa University). She also serves as a Member of the Syndicate, Senate, Academic Council, Examination Committee, and Finance Committee of the University, and possesses over 18 years of postgraduate teaching experience. She completed her Graduation in Economics Honours from Berhampur University, securing First-Class-First-Position, Master’s degree in Economics with First-Class-First-Position with specialisation in Statistics from Ravenshaw College, and subsequently obtained her M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. As of now, she has made substantial academic contributions, over 125 publications in reputed journals and edited volumes. Her scholarly output further includes four textbooks, six research books, and six edited books. She has successfully completed two research projects funded by ICSSR, New Delhi and has recently completed another project supported under UFIRP. She has to her credit the supervision of 07 Ph.D. and 35 M.Phil. scholars, while 09 Ph.D. scholars are still pursuing their research under her guidance. Till now, she has organised more than 25 unique academic events. She has also contributed to academic discourse by chairing sessions at various conferences and seminars and serving as a resource person at numerous academic programmes. She is a Life Member of many professional Associations, including the Indian Economic Association (IEA), Odisha Economics Association (OEA), and Indian Association for Social Science and Health (IASSH).
