Hima Bindu Maringanti has been serving as a Professor at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Odisha, India, since July, 2012. She is a B.Tech from Osmania University, Hyderabad in Electronics & Communication Engg&M.Tech from Indian School of Mines (now IIT) Dhanbad in Computer Science & Applications, Ph.D from IIIT, Allahabad in the field of Emotional Intelligence and Semiotics. She has a total of 32 years of teaching experience in various institutes of repute. Life member of various professional bodies and reviewer of various international journals/ conferences and Ph.D examiner of different Universities. Has around 149 research publications in various journals, ISBN serial numbers and conference proceedings, book chapters with highest IF of 6.3 and 7.97 and H-index 15. Have 4 Design Patents to her credit. Areas of interest and research include Heuristic algorithms, Natural Language Processing, Cognitive Science, Psycho. and Neuro-linguistics, Emotion Modeling and Affective Computing. She served MSCBU in various Academic Administrative Posts like Syndicate Member, HoD, Chairperson, PG Council, Director, SFC Superintendent of Hostel, Warden of Hostels, Director, Computer Centre, Chairman, Sexual Harassment Cell and ICC for 8 years, NAAC Steering Committee Coordinator, NMEICT Nodal Officer, Website & Wi-Fi in-charge, Vice-President, Students Union Cultural Committee, Director, IQAC and Adviser of Equal Opportunities Cell, UGC SWAYAM Coordinator and IDP Coordinator, Director E-Samarth, Director, Incubation Centre. Also a NAAC Assessor in various capacities like member, member Coordinator, Chairperson. 10 Ph.D degrees have been awarded under her guidance. She received 4 Awards, 2 National and 2 International. She is socially inclined and initiated Organ Donation in the University, pledged total body 15 years back at AIIMS, New Delhi. A volunteer of The Art of Living. She is nominated as the President of the Rotary International, Mayur chapter, Baripada for the session 2026-2027.
