Dr. Ashis Kumar Jena, currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, MSCB University, Baripada, Odisha, India, since 2016. He received his Ph.D. (Organic Chemistry) in 2014 from NIT Rourkela and joined as an assistant professor at Centurion University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha in 2014. Subsequently he was joined as an Ad-hoc faculty at NIT Jamshedpur and continued from 2014 to 2016 before joining at MSCBU. The research interest of his group includes organic synthesis and nano chemistry. With more than 17 years of research experience and 12 years of teaching experience, he has published 21 scopous as well as web of science indexed international journals. Dr. Jena has undertaken 05 sponsored research projects as Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator, and acted as a active member of DST-FIST programme (2019-24) of Department of Chemistry, MSCBU. Under his supervision, 02 students are awarded PhD, 01 is submitted thesis and 04 are continuing. He has authored 01 book published by leading scientific publishing house. He served as reviewer for many international journals like ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, ACS Applied Nano Materials, Chem Cat Chem, Nanoscale Advances, Analyst, Analytical Methods and ACS Applied Optical Materials etc.

Dr. Jena is a Community Associate member of the American Chemical Society, Affiliate member of Royal Society of Chemistry, UK and Life member, Orissa Chemical Society as well as Society for Materials Chemistry, India. He is the recipient of Prof. R. C. Tripathy Memorial Award-2024 (contributions in chemical sciences) from the Orissa Chemical Society.
